Do I Need First Aid Training?

Under The Health and Safety (First-Aid) Regulations 1981, all employers are required by law to provide adequate first aid equipment, facilities, and personnel to ensure that their employees receive immediate attention if they are injured or taken ill.

As a responsible employer, you are required to risk assess your business to determine your First Aid training requirements.

First Aid training isn’t just useful for employers. Knowing what to do in an emergency situation is always a valuable skill for anyone to have.

Emergency First Aid

By the end of the Emergency First Aid course, all candidates will have gained the basic skills and knowledge to demonstrate that they can work as an emergency first aider in the workplace.

First Aid Certificates

  • All certification is provided by Aid Training & Operations Ltd.

  • Certification costs are included within the course fee

  • Each certificate is valid for 3 years

Where Does the First Aid Training Take Place?

  • At your place of work:

    We will happily travel to your workplace to deliver training for up to 12 learners. Social distancing must be maintained. Expenses including travel and accommodation (if required) must be covered.

  • At our training venue:

    If conducting your first aid training at your place of work is not possible, then HDB First Aid Training will be happy to accommodate you at our venue here in Deal, Kent. Teas & coffees are provided on the day, and lunch can be provided at an additional cost. Due to social distancing requirements, we can only accommodate up to 6 learners.

About the Trainer

Nick Burton - HDB First Aid Training

Nick Burton

Nick is a first-aider and fire trainer located in Deal, Kent. He served in Her Majesty's Armed Forces for 14 years, 8 of which were spent teaching trainees and soldiers in various subjects. A requirement of the job was to maintain expertise in both first aid training and fire training, a skillset that Nick is passionate about passing on to those he trains.

In 2014, Nick was medically discharged due to sustaining injury. He went on to work for Bell Helicopters (Heli-Charter), where he became the company's first aid, fire, and helicopter ground crew training instructor. Unfortunately, due to the physical requirements of the job and Nick's previous injury, he was unable to continue in this position. He left in 2015 and founded HDB First Aid Training.

Nick holds a vast array of qualifications and experience, including the CTLLS award that gives Nick the ability to both assess and teach his first aid training candidates.

I learnt about agonal breathing, something I had never heard of before. It's extremely important to understand what it is at whatever level of First Aid you are qualified to.
